Stephanie Cerini

born 1977

is a NYC artist now residing in LA since 2017, she is a street photographer, jewelry designer, and professional video artist since 2007, and since 2017 has been experimenting with painting as her medium.
Drawn to alchemical symbolism, she's not sure how her paintings are made except by some unseen force she channels in the process, and translates.

 She uses feelings of pain and pleasure as a catalyst to create solid objects in space. Essentially, paintings are more of an energetic exorcism or to form a channel for information, because often symbols of information are revealed.
She believes in art as a healing modality for the emotional transcendence of pain and a tool for growth.

 Most of the photography work is shot on 35mm and some 120 film w/ point and shoot cameras or Polaroid film, there may be a handful of digitally produced work.

She is currently working on an MA in Psychology/ centering on Art Therapy.
